Dear "Near Desperate"

I am a great believer in the "Dr Philism" that says "If you wouldnt do it in front of your partner, and if you are going outside the boundaries of your relationship to get something that you should be looking inside your relationship for, then its cheating".

Cheating of the mind, of the heart and of the body are one in the same for me.

I know a lot of people will have differing opinions, and I know some couples who actively engage in cybersex with other couples.

I guess what it all comes down to is your own personal beliefs about the "boundaries" of your own relationship.

Personally, I dont share. Ever.

I agree to Melle.Cyber sex is just an another form of cheating. Cheating is cheating. A lie is a lie - It does not make any difference what word you choose. Similarly cheating your partner is morally and ethically wrong.

Cyber sex is not an exception - The fact that you have this question shows that some where you are aware that this is wrong.

Wish you all the best- finally you have taken the correct path. Realization of your mistake and taking step to overcome implies that you are on the path of recovery.

What you should do even before you tell your girl which you probably should do is think about why youre cheating so much. Are you unhappy in your relationship? Before youre honest with her, you should be honest to yourself.

I don't think the act of it is cheating, as there isn't anything physical occuring and not in front of the actual person (unless thats webcam and that's a completely different ballgame).

However, the "thought" behind that action or "cybersex" is the cheating factor. Obviously, if you're resorting to cybersex, you and your lover have some internal issues going on.
