sexual education? This is a follow-up of a previous question and I found that some people are not getting the "sex talk " from their parents and misinformation from there peers.
I remember the "outcry" from the community when sex education was instituted in middle schools. As children are becoming sexually active at an earlier age, it would seem appropriate. This is NOT a question of who should be giving the sex talk, it is a question of re-enforcement and if education has a role. Do your best with this, OK? |

Yes, but it needs to be age appropriate.
I think the uproar happened because some people got the wrong idea. They said things like, "what do you mean sex ed for KINDERGARTNERS?!!!!" and didn't listen to the total answer. The answer is yes, for kindergartners, if it is age appropriate. Sex ed for kindergartners goes something like this: boys stay out of the girls bathroom; girls stay out of the boys bathroom; don't look under Susie's dress because it's an invasion of privacy; and, if someone touches you in a way or in a place that makes you feel uncomfortable you should tell an adult that you trust about it. |
